PRESS RELEASE FROM ONE TRAFFORD

“Turn Moss Friends bring HOPE to Trafford”

Friends of Turn Moss have teamed up with the One Trafford Partnership to bring HOPE to Trafford.

One Trafford, a collaboration between Trafford Council and Amey, worked with the Turn Moss volunteers to mow the word ‘HOPE’ into the field.

‘HOPE’ was chosen by Friends of Turn Moss to bring positivity to the community during uncertain times and to reconnect visitors with nature.

The tribute, which is located to the east of Turn Moss car park, also represents a message of thanks and gratitude to all those who have kept the community going during the pandemic.

The Friends of Turn Moss group said: “Our green spaces have provided a lifeline during lock down for so many people. Everyone needs access to nature and space to escape.

Friends of Turn Moss wanted to show our thanks. Although the word is best seen from above, we encourage visitors to walk along ‘HOPE’ and take a moment to pause and reflect; to look after ourselves and our planet a bit better.

Executive Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Liz Patel, said:

“This is a wonderful testament to the working partnerships that we’ve relied on during the pandemic. Hope has been brought to our communities by the all the amazing volunteers, key workers and

residents who have been looking out for one another.”

“We’re grateful to have been able to have kept parks open, allowing residents to get some fresh air and exercise. Trafford has some wonderful green spaces which have provided a safe and open space for everyone to reconnect with nature.”
